Red Hats, Purple Outfits And More Were The Highlight Of MVR Meeting

It all started with Sue Ellen Cooper, who founded the Red Hat Society back in 1999 and now there are more than 1.5 million members. One of those members, Debi Farnsworth, who is also a member of the Merrmimack Valley Rotary, told the Club about the Society and her Dracut group, which Debi is the Queen Mother. Debi said that the purpose of the group is to have fun - and "the tacker one dresses, the better." The Dracut group, which Debi founded, has 50 members and is growing. Members can be women of any age but only the ones over 50 get to wear the Red Hat and purple outfits. Those under 50 wear pink and lavender. Debi, welcomes any female Rotarians to join the group.
